J.Y. Park sued over plagiarism controvers​y involving “Someday”

A few months ago, there were some rumors that say that JY Park has made plagiarism. Netizens fierce debate about whether the songs from High Dream Ost, "Someday", exactly the same as the chorus which is the work of one of the songwriters Kim Shin Il.
According to the Central District Court in Seoul, Kim Shin Il claim that they plagiarized "To My Man" from ASH's 2nd album since because JY Park is a songwriter and lyricist of "someday", he demanded 110 million won ($ 103,000 USD) for compensation .

Manager Kim Shin Il menklaim,

"The melody of the chorus' someday 'just like' To My Man", written in 2003.

Harmony and rhythm, acoustic guitar and drums, even a bass, an instrument all the same.

... We demand ₩ 110 million to compensate for losses due to copyright infringement.

On July 12, representatives J.Y. Park replied that,

"We're sorry, we will obey the law. Can not be said that it was plagiarism because it has a common chord progressions used in popular music.If they are sued, we will take action with the legal team. "
